Basketball Drill Purpose
This fun dribbling game can be used to develop both ball handling skills or be used as a fun warm up drill for middle school kids. Perfect for working on the different crossovers. Add a communication cue to tell the next person when to go. A fun competitive basketball drill that also helps players work on their crossovers and jump stop footwork.
Basketball Equipment Needed
Players need to pair up. A flat playing area is required, the size of the field needed should be determined by the number of players. Larger numbers require a larger playing area for safety.
How To Play
Once athletes have mastered the warm up without a ball. you may have players dribble a ball. Add rules like left hand going left, right going right. Perhaps, introduce a rule that every switch requires a different crossover type. You can play tiggy at the end where player has to try to tag player and has 5 seconds to do so. You can use the word ‘TAG’ or ‘TIGGY’ to change the game into this mode to increase pace.
