In this video Coach Craig Rowe explains the basic concepts behind the drive fake or jab fake footwork in basketball.
Demonstrated by OzSwoosh Academy Captain Hayden, this shows the fundamental idea behind both the jab and go or jab and crossover move in basketball.
Drive fakes (or jab fakes) are a foot fake technique used to get a defender to react.
Whichever way the defender reacts, results in the offensive player executing the appropriate response.
Jab and shoot or drive fake and shoot is also a method used to create space by forcing a defender to step backwards in response to the initial fake.
