This fun basketball game for kids is called ‘on the rack’ and is a competitive, fun shooting drill to help youth players improve shooting range and shot technique.
You may line players up from a spot or have them shooting around the 3 point line depending on ability.
The concept is simple. Everyone starts on a set number of lives, in this example we gave our athletes 5 lives.
Players take it in turns to shoot. A made basket adds a point to the made tally called “the rack”.
If someone misses a shot, however many were “on the rack” gets deducted from that players lives.
When a player gets to 0 lives, they are eliminated.
Play continues until you have one winner.
