Basketball Skills Program Update

OzSwoosh Rookies Program

OzSwoosh head coach Craig Rowe has confirmed changes to OzSwoosh Basketball Skills Programs from Term 4, 2020.

A participant survey resulted in a decision to move the Senior group from Saturday morning to a Sunday evening at Morayfield.

Coach Rowe said the change was necessary to improve service delivery and ensure continued growth.

Rowe said the current training venues would continue to be fully utilised.

“A new shooting program will fill the Saturday morning timeslot at the Deception Bay PCYC,” he said.

“Athletes have indicated they wanted to get more contested and competitive shots up.

“I will develop a training program to help athletes achieve this goal to improve versatility and adaptability.”

OzSwoosh would continue to offer Rookies on a Sunday morning at North Lakes and would add a new Sunday afternoon Rookies program in Morafyield.

Rowe also indicated OzSwoosh teams were currently under consideration for a revamp in 2021.

The revision will consider the tournaments, domestic competitions and friendlies OzSwoosh athletes would participate in next year.

Future announcements on other OzSwoosh program changes would be made in the coming weeks.
